That's the best explanation I've heard yet, Dyke! That must have been fun playing with Bill K - I'll bet he's got a lifetime of great stories as well Smile

This one is for all of us aging 1970's country rockers

Hey - I resemble that remark!

Great work on this song, Jeff - I used to have that album on vinyl, haven't seen it for a long while though!

I'd like to suggest an alternate phrasing for the intro:

Tab:

Using the higher strings will help cut through the mix a little better in a live band setting.

BTW - I also liked your tab on the NRPS song - Buddy Cage sure has some elusive twists and turns in his playing - have you looked at Panama Red?

Thanks, Mike...I'll check it out. I can't think of another intro with as much use of the AF position.

You're right about Buddy Cage...I think of everyone I've tried to tab out, he's been the toughest...there's a LOT of notes and noodling going on in the background and some different string combinations and picking patterns. I'm not sure how old he was in the NRPS days but I was thinking when I saw him in the older videos that he was really young to be that good on steel already. I can put Panama Red on the list - I always liked that tune. We didn't have a steel player in the band in my country rock days and I spent a lot of time trying to fake the steel part on a Tele.
