The reason I ask is I recorded a track using an MXR phase shifter for my record and truthfully, I'm not sure I love it. I want to hear if it sounds equally bad in the hands of others. Laughing It's an uptempo track with a slow-ish rate setting, probably not as slow as is usual. No turning back now, really, though.

I remember liking Buddy's sound on Killer Joe, but I haven't heard it in ages. And Sneaky Pete used a phase shifter, too.

Sneaky Pete on Jackson Browne's "Take It Easy" cross-fading into "Our Lady Of The Well" pretty much does it for me; "Rock Candy" by Danny Gatton with Buddy Emmons is also remarkable.

The worst recording? I'll leave that to others to decide.

I recently picked up a Nu-Tron by Luck Duck. It is a clone of the original Mu-Tron phaser. I have yet to really put it through its paces:

I grew up playing a Mu-Tron phase II. I don't think I would use it for that subtle steel guitar phasing, but it is a great pedal.
