| I have just a little experience with a dobro, and recently took delivery of a pedal steel (used Carpsteel). I would like to have it gone over, checked out, and set up by a knowledgeable person. The copedent is non-standard on a couple of the knee levers, and I am reluctant to do much with that. I have talked to Billy Knowles and know he is highly respected, but is about 4.5 hours from the Charlotte area. Does anyone know of a reputable individual perhaps a bit closer to Charlotte? If I need to go ahead and make the trip to Billy's place to get it done right, let me know. Wish I had bought one of these before age 62. The little guitar does have a really nice, bright tone. |

Doug Palmer ksis in Greensboro. I think he also does lessons. Get it set up and a starting lesson.
What do you mean by not standard? There are several variants of "standard".

| Lucky you, your in a hotbed of steel and country music, at least with in short driving distance. I think Tony Prior is in or around the Charlotte area. The Georgia boys and the GSGA are not that far away, Tommy Dodd, Bill Cunningham and many many more. Ask, in help wanted... I really believe you will get the help you need. |

that steel should be very simple to change around.
i'd just try to hook up with another player who could help you out with it rather than pay hundreds of dollars to the specialty guys for a simple task. |
