| gentlemen are there many single neck steels out there with c 6 tuning I have a single neck in e 9 most ads I see don't specifically state whether e 9 or c6 let meknow if there are any singleneck e 6 to be had out there dennis |

I have a '73 Emmons PP S-10 6x2 fatback that's in extremely clean condition. I don't know if it originally came from the factory with this tuning or not. It was purchased locally in Southern Oregon last year by a good friend of mine with an E9 setup but was recently converted to C6 for him by a mutual friend. I now own it and intend to sell it fairly soon. I'll be willing to set it up either way but because of my work backlog, I'm hoping someone might prefer to buy it with a C6 tuning.
If anyone has any serious interest, please send me an email and we'll take it from there. The price will depend on how the purchaser wants it setup.
I'll most likely post this guitar in the "For Sale" section fairly soon.

That's a great guitar, with a very functional Emmonsy copedent. It sounds wonderful.
I am very much not an Emmons (the company, not the player) guy, which I figured out after having this made into a very playable rig. |

Dear Dennis - Out of 1000 ads that you see for a single neck, 999 are set up for E9. That's why they don't even bother to say which. If you see an ad for a single C6th neck, it will always say C6 if you can find one. Most guitars could be changed from E9 to C6th set up if the owner wanted, maybe even the one you have.

Dennis, as Mike stated I have built a few of the C6 Judge model guitars.
Although these guitars were 4 years apart, both customers ordered the same color and their stunning.
First is Steve Dingle's 5x5
The second guitar is Gerry Cockrell's 5x5

ANY pro-level guitar can be configured that way, it's just a matter of using and moving parts to where they're needed. The few issues I see are, if you want to buy used it may be much quicker to buy an E9 guitar and have it converted, the number of guitars already configured as S10 or S12 C6th guitars... well it's got to be 1% or less. And there are doublenecks all over the place, which is the normal gateway drug.
Also, while the E9th setup (copedent) has reached a certain higher level of standardization (80%?), at least for the first three pedals and four knees, C6th is still pretty variable. FIVE pedals and ONE knee are often the same on doublenecks, but people still put them in different places (rascals); I also think there's a significant difference in setup depending on whether you intend to regularly use both feet on the pedals. And if you do go double, whether you want a "Crawford Cluster", which describes groups of pedals that are further forward (towards "audience") and further back (towards you). Not necessarily WHAT setup Jimmy Crawford used, but that's the search term to uncork the idea. Have you ever considered a simple, relaxing hobby like interstellar navigation, hieroglyph translation, brain micro-surgery etc.?

Williams just built me an S-12 Extended C6th 8 & 5. Also my Whitney is a S-12 C6th set up the same way. If you want a great steel set up to C6th, contact Williams or Whitney for a great keyless. If i can help answer any questions about my C6th steels, just give'me a yell.  |
