I am playing tonight out at Cady's (in Rhode Island's "Far West!") with Quenby, an interesting singer-songwriter from Montana and Austin.
It's all been done by e mail so far: initial contact out of the blue, details, then a site for her tunes which I have charted out.
Also she has hired ace guitarist Mike Roberts, and a terrific bass player, Sandy Martin, from the Boston area. Nothing like a good solid rhythm section.
And get this: In addition to her own tunes, she does covers . . . of Merle, Waylon, Willie, Buck, Patsy Cline! Be still, my heart!
I am so looking forward to this gig, with, I think, the right mixture of the known and the unknown--which, for this steeler, provides an extra little adrenaline boost!
All you music fans in eastern CT/Western RI (yes, both of you!) are invited.
