I'm looking to find a working (doesn't have to be perfect) version of the original Rickenbacher amplifier sold in the 1930s as a set with frying pans, which I believe went by the name "The Speaker". I'd pay a few hundred bucks plus shipping. It's more to complete a set than to play through although I may want to play it from time to time, after my amp guy goes over it. The version I am talking about is:

One sold on reverb not long ago for $300. One (non-working, but appears fixable) is on ebay for $650 with no sign of activity, so I'm hoping, yes!

Here's one on eBay that might work.

Have one that came as a set with my 1934 A22 Frypan. Replaced the electrolytics and it took right off playing. Interesting to hear what the Frypan actually sounded like back in the day. No on-off switch or volume control just plug it in and play. Be happy to send you the pictures of my repair and refurb if you find one. Not much to it so easy to fix.

In Kaua'i for the nxt few days. Where you located?

Loren:

Did you ever find one of these? And also, did I send you the pics? I've got the schematic if you want.

I was lucky enough to buy a ACE and M10 combo off of ebay for a pretty good price. The amp needed a little solder work and the guitar had a dead pickup. Both are working now and sound great together.
