I just bought a Sho-Bud LDG Lloyd Green Model 6150 serial #16487 from the widow of the original owner. It looks all original to me except the knee levers(she said she did not remember him making any changes to it). They are not tear-drop and look like straight pieces of chromed metal. She thinks he bought it new in the mid 80s.
The picture is the only one I have until I can get it home and take some more.
Do any of you have a picture of what the original pups might have looked like?
Who would be the best to do a restoration/cleaning/etc. on this? It plays fine, everything works, just pretty cruddy. I am in Bbirmingham, AL.

The knees are probably original and the pickup looks right.
When they went to hex shafts, they went to straight levers. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

I had its twin back in about 1990.
Wish I had kept it.

I did some superficial cleaning and it looks great and plays great. However, the Sperzel tuners are incredibly difficult to turn and feel like they have sand in them. Can they be salvaged? I hate to replace anything on this guitar that is not original.

looks great. save your money and play it the way it is.
do a forum search on sperzel's. i think someone recently posted something on how to free those up.
they have a reputation for getting stiff. |

thanks Chris - I have since learned that trying to replace those is opening a big can of worms. _________________ Show Pro SD10 guitars

You could try loosening up the screws on top of the keys, just a little bit. That might help.
I don't know how to lubricate them, though. |
