For those that enjoy seeing what I've been up to, here is my Shovelhead 8 string prototype.
I must say, I'm very happy with how the Shovelhead 8 turned out. A sweet voice and pretty easy on the eyes too

Tom, how do you keep raising the bar (no pun intended)? That zebra wood is gorgeous. A fabulous looking piece of craft/art.

If there is one thing that Tom loves....it's a challenge. Either from an idea he has or an idea that a client has.
It requires an open mind to new ideas on the part of the client too. 
The Shovelhead came about because I sent Tom a pic of a Havana lap steel and wondered if he could do something in that vein. 
My FPS and JYD resulted because I told Tom I was ready to order and asked him if he had any ideas/plans that he wanted to bring to fruition. He would draw something up and send it to me for review. Lucky, lucky me.
As Rick said, it's an honor to have Tom build his steels for me. |

Steve, if not for brave souls like you, Rick, and all of the other wonderful people I've built instruments for, non of this would be possible. Like I said, I truly do feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to build my guitars. I get to explore my creative side and I also get to play with some pretty cool hardware and some of mother nature's best.
So you see, I think that I am the lucky one and Thanks Again to you, Rick, and everyone else that gave me a shot!

There were a few times I wondered if the Shovelhead would kick my butt. After a few revisions and a fleeting moment of clarity while doodling, it finally hit me.
