Hello guys thanks for looking. I am not selling this guitar but curious to buy from a local guy. Im curious if it is a decent deal or not. I don't know too much about the value of certain steels but learning. Im wondering if any of you would be so kind as to let me know what you would place the value of this guitar as. Thanks

Nice looking Emmons!
A picture of the underside is needed to estimate the value, and we need to know how many Knee Levers.
Most players need four levers. If it has less they can be added but that's an added cost that must be considered.

If the underside is as clean as the top side, it'll be worth a couple grand or more. One of the most desirable guitars.

Thank you guys for all your input. Any amount was helpful. Im a newish steel player and I have never spent this much money on anything before in my life. I am still driving a shitty car, but I love the instrument and I think this is more important  |

How many knee levers, and how much is the seller asking ?
What is the S/N ?
An appropriately priced and purchased Emmons Steel like the one in the photo, given that the underside is the same condition as the top side and with perhaps 4 knee levers, is not just a fine instrument but a sold investment as well. You will not lose 1 dime. The market is HOT for these Instruments and I doubt it will ever NOT be hot.
Buy it before someone else does, these are instruments we buy on the spot, we don't go home and think about it.

| a twin to this guitar just sold on the forum a month ago for 2200, and is now for sale by a different owner at 2800 two weeks later, so i suspect the value is somewhere in that ball park. |

I think that will not be the case, I predict in the next ten years there will be a flood of steel guitars on the market, already seeing it happen...widows selling...or estate, you don't see it all here on the SGF, lots on Craig's List. I own four push pulls, I didn't buy them for an investment, but to use and enjoy their sound and feel. I just turned 60, I'm playing as much now as ever. I'm still in pretty good shape and can lug my D-10's ( thank God for split case concept) times moving at a pretty good clip and I'm making a conscience effort to slow things down and enjoy the musical moments. If these old Emmons retain their value in the next 10 to 20 years that would be a bonus for sure and I hope the demand is there to make it happen,but, I not real optimistic that will be the case. Time will tell, and another quip I've come to quote "nothing stays the same"
Nice looking guitar, lots of fun to be had with it!
