Our band leader, Rob Laing from Andes, NY had a heart attack and passed away last night. Rob and I have been in the same band for the past 16 years. We played over 500 gigs together, traveled all over New York state and into Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and met a lot of nice country music fans. I played steel for most of these years.
About 2 years ago, Forum member John De Maille joined us on the steel guitar chair and I moved to bass.
Rob played rhythm guitar, sang lead male vocals, and was the booking agent and leader of Country Express. Rest in peace,
Rob, we had a good run.

I'm sorry to hear of Rob's passing. I met him some years back and he sure seemed to be a good guy.

Larry, my condolences go out for you and John along with the rest of your band for the loss of your musical brother. My deepest sympathies and prayers go out for Rob and his family.

Sincerely,
Chris "Tiny" Olson
