I have a 120.low profile Good Rich pedal its a year old . is the screw in the bottom under the dust plate that screws into the bottom just to hold the shaft ? or axel from coming out on its own.or is it and adjustment screw for pedal action. my pedal seems to be sticky when you first start of with it. its very annoying ., any help on how to remedy it would be much appreciated.

The hidden set screw just locks the axle. The spring on one end of the string CAN affect stiffness.
It's also possible that liquids can get in the axle bore, like spilled beverages.
If you're comfortable with unstringing and restringing it, unstring it, separate the halves, clean axle and bores, and if they weren't dirty, reassemble with less tension.

The string might also be trying to wrap over itself. That can make it bind

Also check to insure that the collar that holds the string is not touching the housing on the pot.
