The chart I use was given to me years ago by a local steel player, He said it was a conversion of the Newman Chart to cents. On the A pedal C#'s on strings 5 & 10 and the C pedal 5th string change to C# has -6 on each change. With the C#-6 on strings 5 & 10 and 4th and 8th strings to F-18 sounds right, I catch myself angling the bar a little makes it sound more exact to my old ears.

Here's my out-of-tune chart. It works for me.

SO much simpler, b0b, and A comes out to 440.
A chart written with respect to Hz doesn't even make sense to me any more.

Thanks for posting that, b0b. I was thinking about your tuning chart a couple of days ago and was too lazy to go searching for it; a happy "find" this morning. Very Happy

I always tuned everything straight up 440, and the only time I'm out of tune is when I don't concentrate on what I'm doing, or playing guitar I'm not used to... as I always say, you can either play the thing or you can't...

I call it the "fault tolerant" tuning. It's not perfect, but it sounds good and strings can drift a bit in either direction without sounding out of tune.

My offsets look a lot like b0b's... only a bit more narrow in a couple of places. It works!
