Larry, they were all made in early 2000 by the late Jerry Brightman. Don't know how many were made but John Billings worked at the company. He can probably tell you.

Did I hear that there was some connection between Performance and the Russ-Ler?

Jim I understand that is to be true.
I have ordered some bellcranks from Randy @ Russler they are very similar.
I met Jerry & became friends with him while he was developing the Performance Steel Guitar Co. in the early 2000's
A very well built Steel.

tone of this guitars will knock your socks off through little 112, I can only imagine running it through some bigger, more serious steel amp ... I was never a fan of E66 pick up, but on this guitar, oh boy ... I now understand why you never see these guitars up for sale, guys who owned one, wont let it go... and now I understand why ...

Damir,

"I was never a fan of E66 pick up, but on this guitar, oh boy"
Jerry told me very nearly the same thing one day!

I have to say I am confused, I very rarely get caught by surprise by the tone of a guitar, after playing over 250 guitars, and I pretty much know what to expect from which guitar ... yesterday I had my back turned to this guitar and after hearing the first few notes I thought to myself "what is this ???" .. I turned around, and there it was, Performance with little Peavey 112 kicking some serious butt , and I don't like E66 pickups, nor am I a big fan of 112 ... but this was like someone had hit me with the hammer lol ... I can't remember last time I was caught by surprise like this ...

I'm glad I did John, lol ... interesting thing is these guitars are nowhere to find, its like they don't exist... there is hardly ever any up for sale, and I could find only one barely watchable video on YouTube of Jerry playing it ... strange ...

yes, I know about that one, because its mine lol ... that is guitar I'm talking about... I got it from the widow who's husband died few years back... she said he sold his custom Emmons push pull to get a new Performance...shortly after his guitar was delivered to him, he passed away, and guitar has been under the bed ever since... he only played it at the church couple times, guitar is like new, plays like a butter, and tone is just flat out amazing ... but this is the only Performance for sale out there, and I haven't seen any in a long time... I love this guitar, and I am seriously thinking I should keep it ... Im found few more videos of Jerry playing, but honestly, none of them can compare to what I heard yesterday... that yesterday was eye opening experience for me ...

Larry, that is very nice... I bet those BL705's sound great too ... search didn't bring up much, for the last 10 years there was handful of Performance guitars on the forum for sale, maybe 4 or 5 max, and your red, and mine black, are just about the only D10 Performance guitars I know of ... there is supposed to be a blue D10, but never seen the picture... I never even realized that until I start doing little research ... it is very interesting to me that just about everybody knows of Jerry Brightman, and his guitars, but yet, so very few own one ... I am puzzled by this... I, as many other guys on here,am familiar with Jerry, and heard about his guitars, but never really realized how rare they are ... I wonder why is that ...

A few years back I brought a beautiful Rose' (Pink) colored SD-10 that was like new. The machine work on this was out of this world. It played like a dream. Very quite and stayed in tune. Someone made a comment to me that it looked like a woman's guitar. I coped and attitude and sold it. What a big mistake. I have even offered to buy it back but to late. The gentleman loves it. They are the finest machined guitar you will ever see and these were back several years ago before all the CNC mills. There are guitars today that have that fine machine look but I am talking about many years ago when these were made. The Black one Damir has is just like new. It has my name all over it but it is just too late in life for me now. But where are all of these guitars at? Just Saying, J.R.

J R that is what I'm thinking, it is so weird that we know they are out there, but yet you can't hardly see it anywhere... do you have a picture of your guitar maybe? I was gonna start a topic to see all the guys with their Performance guitars, but I'm afraid there wouldn't be more then couple responses ... strange

This may stir up a can of worms but after hearing the sound on the Web site demo I called Jerry. I was knocked out by the sound on the demo. The Web site said the demo was done with two Nashville 112. Jerry laughed and told me it was actually original pods. Whatever it was the sound was awesome

Nice looking guitar Larry. The Russler was mentioned starting out as a Performance. Here's my Russler incase some of you haven't seen one. Nice guitar so Jerry knew how to build one and Randy kept it going.

I hear the same thing, that Russler parts would fit Performance... Performance has standard square cross shafts, so I believe parts from many other brands will fit this guitar as well...
