I agree. I just took a quick look before I answered. Not sure what is going on there.... _________________ Emmons/Sho~Bud/Blanton, Fender/Peavey.

Not sure what that is. I would say its from the 1970's or 80's but probably not older than that. Appears to be pull release. It might make an ok student model if it actually works. |

Well, I was pretty sure it wasn't what it was purported to be and I had NO intention of buying...just thought it would be a brief conversation topic. _________________ Kevin Maul: Airline, Beard, Clinesmith, Decophonic, Evans, Excel, Fender, Fluger, Gibson, Hilton, Ibanez, Justice, K+K, Live Strings, MOYO, National, Oahu, Peterson, Quilter, Rickenbacher, Sho~Bud, Supro, TC, Ultimate, VHT, Williams, X-otic, Yamaha, ZKing. |

Yikes! A couple of Sho~Bud parts, but that is about all. The "history" isn't even good fiction. |

It's a P.O.S. brand guitar. It's a lesser known brand that Shot hand built in a top secret location, they were really popular in the '50s, except buyers had to keep them a secret. That's why they were never seen on a bandstand anywhere. Shhhh!
The ad says "This instrument was designed and built by one of the all time great pedal steel players, Harold "Shot" Jackson" and that the pickup was hand wound by Shot himself! It must be fantastic! Or fraudulent, or one those 'F' words.

Yeah, the fretboard, probably the pedals, and the knee lever looks like a Super Pro era straight lever. |

Slow down gentlemen. Did you read the headline? This guitar could be worth a fortune: “Has the expected blemishes for a 70 year old instrument but is totally functional with a sweet soundâ€
After all, how many 1946 Sho~Buds are still around? Not only that. . . how many 1946 Sho~Buds have you seen that still have their original knee lever?
Seriously, it might be better than a lot of Mavericks. Notice how the cross shafts are set in bearings instead of a hole in a piece of aluminum.
Interesting guitar.

No it's not a Maverick.....I used to teach a guy years ago with one of the first Mavericks. It had a lacquer blonde finish, much better than the later ones where the wood was covered in a kinda soft plastic

Little Buddy. . .
I sat down to one years ago. All I remember is it was not as good as a Maverick or Sidekick. The one I saw was just pine boards nailed together and painted a very bright unattractive blue. (Some products are a very attractive blue.) It had a built in spring-loaded volume pedal which used a standard playing pedal mounted on the right end of the guitar. 3 pedals, no knee levers. It was very wobbly and unstable construction.
