After installing pedal changer into guitar, how easy or hard should the fingers and the sizzor plates move back and forth before springs are installed. |

Without strings or springs, they should be effortless, almost floppy, but only perpendicular to the axle. _________________ 2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)

Steven, I ream out the axle hole to .003" oversize. The rivet through the raise and lower fingers is pressed in place by a jig in the vise and just tightened enough so there is no wiggle room but still rotating freely _________________ BenRom Pedal Steel Guitars

Thanks Bent, I have another question about spring return tension since the changer is no longer binding, how much tension do each spring gets, is there a rule for how tight they should be? |
