Topic: Any vintage D10 consoles? |

One member here mentioned a one off Remington T10 so I would think there should be some vintage D10 non-pedal consoles out there. What have you seen/played/owned/heard about?

| Never have seen one but Rickenbacker offered 10 string necks in some of their consoles and I have seen like an 8-10-8 combo so its possible they may have built a double ten with no pedals. |

Rose Sinclair has (had?) a Rick D10... almost bought it from her, but I got an S10 made by Sonny Jenkins... and now, I'm wanting another 10-string neck for C6 since I put E13 on the one I have. Who wrote the song 'More'? He was right.

I have a D10 Clinesmith Leo Meets Paul, which is about as near vintage Rolls Royce as you can get.
But as far as factory D10, the Rickenbacker is the only one I can think of.

Jon Frye, who made some guitars in the Los Angeles Area in the Fifties through the Nineties, made at least one D-10 for Eddie Bush of Harry Owens and the Royal Hawaiians. He used ten string Rickenbacker horseshoes. I never saw the guitar, but at one time owned the single ten pedal guitar he also made for Eddie Bush.
John was an interesting guy. He modified Sho Bud Permanents, Bigsbys and other guitars for players who wanted updated mechanics. He also did piece work for --and put guitars together for -- Paul Bigsby and his very distinct parts can be found some Factory original Bigsbys. I have lots of the same parts that I bought from Jon.

I have a Miller D-10 that originally was a pedal steel, but the undercarriage was 50% missing when I got it. I purchased it with the intention of making it a D-10 non-pedal.
Rosewood/maple, 24.5" scale. I'm estimating mid-60's. The pickups were gone, so there's GeorgeL's in there now. Sounds like God. Even with no undercarriage it weighs a ton. That's how they built'em in them days.

I had a ShoBud double 9 Fingertip. But it has pedals.
