Topic: Lloyd Green's current setup? |

Does anyone know - does Lloyd still play a Sho-Bud? I don't have "regular" tv, so I never get to see any of these guys on the shows on RFD/other.
Just curious what Lloyd might be playing now, and his current copedent...

as far as i can figure (the internet as my only source of info), lloyd green has kept his rig pretty constant. same ldg, fender twin, and copedent. i think he has adopted a bl710 pickup in place of the bud's single coil.
every time i think of buying more gear or changing something, i keep thinking of what lloyd sounds like with my setup, and then i go and practice! |

I see him playing a JCH double at the steel guitar convention back some years ago (youtube clips). There's not really any info. on his website concerning the steel/etc.

That is a very simplistic tuning...
Just goes to show you that true talent lies with the player, not necessarily the guitar. And I would be lost without that 4th string E-Eb lower...

lol - As stated earlier, Lloyd remains constant! 
He probably follows the theory of highly successful people that dress the same everyday.

Lloyd is amazing. With 3X4, and not even lowering his top E, he can play the most heavenly music from an S10 and it is instantly recognisable as his style and his alone. I am humbled.
Sometimes we get so carried away with all the pulls we can have simply because modern mechanisms allow it that we forget the elegance that comes with sheer simplicity. It takes someone like Lloyd to remind us of this.
As a corollary, recall how amazing the late Ben Keith sounded. His Emmons p/p had 3 pedals and 1 (that's right, just one!) knee-lever which lowered both Es.
Thanks, Lloyd, for reminding us that is isn't how complex the copedant is that matters, it's what the player produces from it that truly makes the musical statement.
