FYI ... I have a new site for my lap steel books: http://www.volkmediabooks.com

Volkmedia.com is now just for my professional video work.

Nice web site, easy to navigate around in. Thanks for all you do for the "non-pedal steel guitar" community !!
I have two of your books and look forward to buying the one you mentioned that should be released around Christmas time !

Andy,
I'm slowly working my way through your book of B11 Arrangments and finding it great, particularly the Jazzier tunes. As an ex-armpit player, relatively new to Lap Steel, I've not yet delved into Haiwaian tunes, but I"ll try some of them soon. However, I would have liked to have a CD included with the book and also would have been willing to pay the the increase in production costs.
Your posted MIDI tracks give an outline of how you perceive the tunes, but a good recording with the "live" sound of the Lap Steel would have been better in my humble opinion.
I really like the way that your arrangements leave the tunes open for improvisation and personal changes.
The tab is easy to follow and the chords are great when input to BIAB to make backing tracks.
I'm a believer when it comes to your books.
Keith.

Keith, I really appreciate your kind words and I'm glad you're liking the arrangements. I hear you on the sound clip issue ....computer generated audio is a poor substitute for all the nuances, touch, tone and sustain of a steel. So I would have loved to include steel performances of all the arrangements but it's not something I'm prepared to do and it's not a cost issue.

The truth is that I have so many irons in the fire between writing professionally, producing and directing video, etc. that I don't have anywhere near the time to work up these songs on steel to a level I could live with for public consumption. I play through everything as I write or transcribe the arrangements but it would take me months to get 'em all up to performance level for a CD. Additionally, I'm really bad at home studio recording and have issues with every lap steel track I've ever posted here. So, I feel the MIDI versions at least give the melody, feel and timing of the songs and licks while you can find many other versions out there too. 'Hope that makes sense!

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the reply. I appreciate your busy schedules and thank you for finding the time to produce the B11 book. I'm working on "East of the Sun"' at the moment and as long as the player can read Tab it's easy to follow with great print quality.
Regards,
Keith.

Ciao, Andrea.

You can order that book here: http://www.volkmediabooks.com/products-books/exploring-c6th-lap-steel-guitar

Joe, the site says "sold out" but it's just temporarily out of stock. More are coming from the publisher.
