I play a U-12 E9-B6 but this would apply to C6.

What chord are you playing with pedals 6 & 7 ???? I can hear it but can't figure it out or how to use it in relation to the key I am playing in. Any insight is appreciated.

At the nut, you go from C6 to G7

Sorry - 'Loonie of the month' here - I misread the original post and, obviously, was thinking of pedals 5 and 6!!!!

Thanks, Ron F., for gently pointing out my ineptitude. I've removed the offending material.

6 and 7 (at zero fret) gives you F9aug11 on strings 4 thru 9.

Sorry for misunderstanding the original question!

P7 also works with P5, turning a D9 into a D13

The way I it sunk in with me is using pedal 6 if you use pedal 7 you get the augmented 11 at string 4 and aug 13 at string 3. If you use the lever that lowers your 3rd string a half tone than you get a dominant 7th with the added 6th tone on string 4 and the augmented 11th at string 3. I am just starting to discover all of this stuff on the C neck and having alot of fun in the process. More fun than learning the E neck I think.

Edit-You get a D9 with p5 at fret 0 or fret 12. The 9th tone or degree being on string 4.

Quentin, how are you building that?
With P5, a D9 is at the nut/fret 12 with the easiest construction

Danny Gaton does a nice chord sustitute that I always dug the sound of and stumbled on it last week that I would like to share. Going from a 1 to a 5. So at the open 1 chord position pick strings 7,5,and 4. Now slide down 2 frets and press pedal 7. Pick strings 6,4,and 3. Your subbing a maj7 b7 chord in place of a dom7 5 chord or at least I think that is whats going on here.. They have some of the same notes in common but the maj7 7 has really cool voicing. I think Danny shows this in the hot licks strictly rythym video. There are lots of good ideas that we can use from his teachings.

It also sounds good doing rhis movement if you pick strings 7 through to 3 one the open position. Slide down 2 frets and press P7 and sweep strings 7 through 3 again.

Thank guys. Some real interesting voicings especially if I relase pedal 7 and use the X lever B to Bd then back to pedal 7 then pedal 6 and 7 then back to no pedals just holding the knee lever that lowers both E's on the U-12.
