Who knows what brand pickup this is, and would a standard wide mount work as a replacement?
Thanks for the help, Mike |

Zane Beck designed this pickup for the BMI steels he was building. It has a different mounting screw placement that is not narrow or wide mount. I have made mounting plates for the chrome 705's but it was very close. Good luck. |

Thanks Larry for the help. I wonder if BMI offered different pickup choices when ordering, as I have seen photos of some with other pickups in them. Did the 705's improve the tone significantly? |

Good question, not sure I want to, just curious what options were available. |

Jon, was it a narrow or wide mount? |

It was wide, Mike. But as I look at it (I no longer have it) the mounting plate seems to have been trimmed for something. Don't know what's up with that. OTOH I replaced it with a GL pickup and did not need to do any alterations to drop it in so.... |
