Remember this tune? A hit for Herb Alpert in 1963, also recorded by The Shadows and The Ventures. Thanks for listening.

Just great; quite a good sounding 'old' steel, strong like a bull.

I like it! The flat pick definitely gives the steel a nice, bright tone.

Cool Doug!
Interestingly, I had just started to work this song out yesterday, in the key of E.
It just popped into my head as a neat little tune for lap steel.
Deja Vu!

Thanks, all! Yes, this song sounds good on lap steel. It sounds kind of surf, kind of exotic. For me, it brings back memories of the days when instrumentals became top 40 pop hits. Songs like Walk Don't Run, Stranger on the Shore, Tequila, A Summer Place, SleepWalk, Pipeline, Telstar, and many more.

How cool is that! I was 14 taking guitar lessons and that was the first song I learned.

Love the tone and all you do Doug.

Thanks, guys! I've always liked this tune. "The Lonely Bull" album was one of the first albums I bought, circa 1964.
