If anybody's thinking about buying this, I'm interested in the bare body(Well, I would like the logo plate too). I have a '51 triple that was cut down to a double, and I've always wanted to put the parts on a regular D-8 body.

If your hardware is off of a triple, you'll probably want the control plates as well - the plates from the triple won't fit onto a double without some modification.

Thanks for the heads up, Jeff! Now that I look more closely, I can see how different the plate that holds the tone and volume controls is. I guess that I'd have to have those also.
Here's a picture of mine:

Is that a "stutter" button fitted on the plate with the volume and tone controls?

Yes, but it's not currently hooked up.
When I got tis guitar, the pickups were dead. My repair guy had a '51 Telecaster that had non-original knobs, pots, switch, etc. He offered to rebuild both pickup and rewire the guitar in exchange for those parts. I opted to not have the stutter switch wired in at the time.

It seems like $500 is to much for what you get anyway.

A word of caution on this guitar: Last week, I asked the seller if he could provide detailed condition of the pickup and tuners. He said that he would test them over the weekend. Since then, he's relisted it, but ignored my messages about it. It makes me think that there are problems with the parts.
