Welcome to the Forum!
I really like your guitar. Nice job. I used to live in Charlottesville. Do you know about Billy Cooper's Steel Guitar Shop in Orange, VA? It's mostly PSG, but it might be a resource for lap steel as well.
The instruction material others have mentioned are worth seeking out.
I've played rock/blues/country kinds of things on open E for a while but I'm working on C6 and it's a different beast. Take it slow and get your fundimentals down. You may not see the improvement but it will come. |

Have you given any thought to Skype lessons? Wife has used it for about 2 years for her music (Accordion) and I just started TODAY with John. Awesome to have someone live to talk to - and have bad habits corrected instead of pounding myself in the head doing things wrong over and over. There are those that can play; and those that can teach; John does both well. IMHO.

I don't have a fast lap top, mine is an old HP Pavilion dv1000 to slow for Skype. A new lap top is not in my future for some time. |
