Lots of talking. He gives playing tips but at about 30 min in he does a super sweat sounding version of Fleetwood Mac's Albatross and some other playing and he talks about his old lap steel, bars, foot pedal and amp. If you only skip around to where he's playing it only about 15 mins+-.

That's a great version of Sleepwalk at the 1 hour mark.

Don't have time to check out the whole video right now, but I really enjoyed Albatross.

And thanks Dennis - I wasn't hip to this Guitar Gathering video series. If I didn't have to get some work done today I'd watch a bunch of 'em.

Interesting to me - I've come across quite a few accomplished pedal steel players that know their E9th and C6th tuning backward and forward, but when they play six string lap steel as an alternative they often use good ol' GBDGBD.

Of course Al Perkins has played a lot of dobro, I saw him a couple times years ago when he was out with Emmylou as one of the Nash Ramblers on dobro so Open G is a go-to tuning for him. But he isn't alone in this among veteran pedal steel players when using a lap steel.

You're welcome Mark. I've watched three or four of the shows. The people who come can all play and they give demos and info and answer questions.
