I'm making a very small run of Revelation Tube Preamps that have a special circuit board and some hand-wired modifications to make it run on a trio of Octal 6SL7 tubes instead of the normal 12AX7's. These are more labor intensive, the octal tubes have become very expensive, and I only have a few of these octal boards at the moment. It's quite a sound.

Please contact me privately to discuss purchasing details, turnaround time, payment methods, etc.

Pricing:

Octal Rev Pre: $1095
XLR transformer option: $100
3-wire harness: $45
Shipping: $30

Brad, I may just have to git one of these from you. My Rev is performing just fine, but these new octal jobs sound very interesting. Very Happy

Brad, is the thermal load out of the unit the same as with the 12AX7's?

Pretty much the same. Both types of tubes (noval and octal) have essentially the same heater current and plate current draw so likely the same amount of heat as well.

I talked to Brad for a while about an Octal Revelation .....I told him that my order was in for Octal Rev numero uno !!.....This was early on, and I had to keep a secret on this pre as I told Brad that I would .... Most of you know that I have enough gear to make a music store blush !!......I have to tell you that this pre is hands down the best Pre for pedal steel out there today ....The notes just bloom out of this thing, and hooked up to my VHT 2:90:2 it's just a match made in pedal steel heaven !!...... Nothing I own has the tone and versitility of this pre for pedal steel .... It's so full , and cleam sounding and has a beautiful natural clean tone to it .... Brad surely knows what he's doing with this pre ..... Try it , you'll buy it !!.....Many thanks Brad for listening to my crazyness , and for building some of the best gear in the industry ...... Sincerely, Jim

You truly need to believe James when he states that his equipment line up can put some music stores inventory numbers to shame. He has a lot of different preamps to compare the Octal Revelation to. I've known James for quite some time and he is a "fanatic" when it comes to tone. If he states "it's great", it truly is.

I also own an Octal Revelation. In my opinion, it's warmth, overall flexibility and tone is superior to any other preamp that I have ever used. Octal tubes just seem to have a certain "feel and response" when you play through them. The popularity of Brads V 8 has proven that.

All of Brad's preamps and products have always been top of the line but I think he just "raised the bar" a few more notches with the Octal Revelation.
