Here's Paul King with his wife Tonya showing his Texas Steel Guitar Association Player of the Year Award, from March 2015 at the Jamboree.

Way to go Paul, I am proud to know you and your wonderful wife.

I always knew you had an amazing tone on that Emmons.

Thanks George for posting the news and to everyone for all the nice comments. I must say that I was totally shocked when I heard that I was receiving this award. I feel so honored and blessed and know there are so many players more deserving than myself. Playing with a fantastic band that TSGA supplies was a blast. I love the steel guitar, this organization but more importantly the friends I have made through the years because of this instrument. Not a day goes by that I do not call or text a steel player and visit.

Thanks guys for all the kind words. I still have a big "S" on my forehead that stands for shocked. Thanks to Albert and Debbie Talley and the TSGA members for this honor. It is nothing I take lightly and I cherish the moment and the memories from the show this year. I am blessed to be a part of this steel guitar family.

Paul, you are the real deal and a real friend. You deserve that award as much as anyone that has won it.

Your set at the Dallas Show was excellent.

Congratulations.

Mark, Thanks my friend and I could never repay you for all you have done. The day I met you has been one of lifes biggest blessings for me. You and Suzan are a great couple to be around. And for the record you are a better player than you give yourself credit for and David Wright agrees and that speaks volumes to me.

paul, congratulations are in order. it just proves that what's been said all these years, that, "if you don't quit pickin' at it it won't get no better", is not something you can take to the bank! ....congratulations.
i would imagine gettin' this award in the state of texas is the big payoff for all that diggin' and a' pickin' you've done along the way in developin' that unsurpassed style that you have today. it's a'liken to winnin' the easter egg hunt, a lot of competition for the golden egg, but, only one. congratulations....from the delta in arkansas and mississippi
country jack....

Thanks guys for all the kind words. Fred Justice sounds so good playing steel guitar it is only natural for him to be a builder. Jack Harper, I enjoyed my visit to Arkansas a couple years ago but I am so blessed to have been given this award. I sure know there are other players who are more deserving. And Jerry Foster whom I met in Oklahoma, we missed you at the Texas show this year. I have a room reserved for the Oklahoma show and look forward to seeing you again. God bless all of you.
