Just saw Bruce up front and workin' it with Garth on the Ellen show. Lookin' and sounding great Bruce! Just wondering what kind of slide and amp you were using? Great tone and playing!

You can watch the video here:

http://www.ellentv.com/videos/0-xb64pz6b/

When I got there, I expected to see Bruce playing pedal steel since Dale's opening post wasn't specific and I was a little surprised to see him on his Scantic River Guitars lap steel, he's playing standing with a strap.

I have been GASing for one of these guitars big time and have been trying to figure out what I can sell to accumulate the cash toward ordering one. Cool

I am going to go with what I would call an educated guess that Bruce's bar is a Scheerhorn because I know that he has owned one or more Scheerhorn resonator guitars and has known Tim for years. I of course could be completely wrong on the bar, maybe Bruce will fill us in.

My main bar these days is a Scheerhorn stainless steel model, I use this on both dobro and six string lap steel. Fits my hand great.

Brief glimpse of the amp at the end - another guess- Fender Deluxe Reverb - modern reissue from a back line rental shop in Los Angeles?

Hi Mark, Sorry I wasn't more specific. I actually am interested in knowing the make of the slide guitar itself. You answered my question, thanks!

Dale, two minutes in the penalty box in your first post for referring to a lap steel guitar as a "slide." Winking

Here is the website:

Here is video of Bruce playing what I believe is another SRG at The Station Inn during a Little Walter amp event in 2013:

note to bruce b. .... you got on my case for slighting the performance of terry crisp with chris young, even though i wasn't knocking his playing...just that i appreciated the pedal steel ability more than the lapsteel.

in this case, the lap was great! very appropriate for the song which really grooved. i also like garth's voice better than chris'.

i will say that it's sure going to simplify things if we steel players can make a living with a simple lapsteel setup rather than hauling around a d10.

Great work by Bruce, and I liked the way Garth acknowledges his players.

Thanks for the kind words. I was using a backline deluxe for that show since we flew in for the day. On tour with Garth I use a Lil Walter 22.
Cheers
