Came across this Ernest Tubb thermometer and can't help wondering if Lynn Owsley had a hand in designing it.

Most photo studios are inside of a warm building. This one was at 50 degrees when the picture was taken. WHO WHO WHO WHO WHO calibrated this one?

Greg,
Wise observation. Perhaps Buddy was playing "Cool It" when the picture was taken. As far as I know, The Texas Troubadours were always on Decca, and never recorded for Mercury.

Best regards,

But if you go back to the 1940s, this could be a Jerry Byrd BIRD clock!

I recorded a few Jimmy and Leon SHORT tunes. They worked with ET and were on a few of his records. That was a LONG time ago and no one gave a HOOT about it!

Good one Chris.

Greg,
That may not be entirely true. Don't forget ET's bus driver back in the 70s. . . Hoot Borden.

Joe Casey,
You have W A Y too much free time.

Dan,
I checked with Jack Mollette to verify that it was indeed Hoot in the '70s.

Dan, if you could have been there. . . Ernest made sure everyone on that bus was part of the show. Previous driver Johnny Wiggins sang on each show and even appeared on at least one album. Whether or not they performed on stage, the bus drivers always got there share of recognition. Others here will probably agree with me; when you saw the Troubadours, you always got more than your money's worth.

Regards gentlemen,
Craig

I remember back in the 70's,Hoot and Earnest had a skit worked out where Hoot would get in the audience and heckle Earnest, what a crazy skit. The whole audience was tears except for Woody Taylor one of Earnest' biggest fan. He found no humor in someone badgering Earnest. Don Helms on steel, Mr. Byrd on guitar.
