Mike,
I have a question for you.
I have an Emmons p/p, serial no. 1002.
It is China Red in color and a beautiful guitar.
On the like new Thomas case is a plate that says "Mike Sweeney".
Was this your guitar at one time?
It is a D-10 with 8 x 5. Chances are it has been worked over at some time as it's nearly impossible that it could be original as nice as it is.
Thanks,
Erv

that's a neat steel, erv.
i'd be curious to know it's history also. the serial number is really low. i can't see for sure...is it a bolt-on? curious color for a very early emmons, and it looks as if it has the closer spaced pedals found in the mid '70's. let us know!

Chris,
Yes, it would be nice to find out some history on the guitar. It is very clean and obviously had a recent re-build because of it's excellent condition.
It has cut tail changers and the pedals are the wide ones, not narrow close spaced.

oh..i guess the angle just made the pedal rods look a little closer than mine..
cuttails are the best model for a mica guitar in my opinion. ..still, a curious serial number. is it 1002 D ?

That's really pretty Erv, that is a low serial number, maybe 68 or 69 model. Just my opinion and I've had lots of Emmons, but I think the late 60's to about 75 or 76 were the best sounding and playing Emmons? I've got a 70 and did own a 75 and they play like a dream. I've had several 80 models and they just didn't sound or play as good as the ones I have.

I'm going to be putting up some more pictures and I also have an blue Emmons LeGrande II that I will be showing pictures of. I will be offering up both for sale.
I am interested in getting a late model Zum. I sold mine a while back and sure miss it.

No I never owned that guitar. Wade Thomas made the case for my last Emmons guitar. When I went to the Zumsteel I play now in 2005 I let the push pull go in an older case and sold that case to somebody as a Zum won't fit [ not deep enough ].
