I have no idea Erv, I'm not an expert on ZUM's ... I don't even know what you talking about... maybe some ZUM expert can chime in, and answer the question...
serial number is D1084419 if that helps

If you look at the bellcranks, they have mustiple slots for the pull rods, like a comb. The ends of the pull rods have a small pin in them that fits into the bellcrank slots. The later bellcranks are more conventional with a kink in the pull rod to fit the lesser notches in the bellcranks.

If D1084419 is the correct serial number, it was built in 1991. Beautiful guitar.

that should be the number, I guess it would be 1991 then, like I said, man learns something every day..today I learned that my ZUM is not 1999 but 1991 ...if this post stays up for a couple of months, I will become an ZUM expert lol

Although Bruce has gone to the more conventional type bell cranks, the "comb" bell cranks work just fine. They have six slots to fine tune the pull rod's travel so the action can be adjusted however you prefer. The pull rods have a small steel pin that fits in the slot(s) and fits in between the two halves so there's no loss of motion as with some other types of cranks that pull from the side. The only disadvantage is the cranks tighten onto the cross shafts via an allen screw that is parallel to the body between the cross shaft and the body. You need long Allen wrenches with the ball ends to tighten or loosen these.
