I've seen a few come thru here that were the SP model.
What I was told is that it was Special Paint, thus SP
The paint was a little darker than the other LDG's I've had. There was an article from Lloyd Green explaining the SP. Below is a quote and page from the old SGF dated from 2006 from Jim S.
"There was a recent post using an article by Lloyd Green that explained the "SP" designation as being special paint. That is, it was not in the tradional green lacquer color. So, I'd ask, is this one green?"

Al, thanks a bunch, that explains a lot, because this guitar is absolutely gorgeous, dark green lacquer is amazing.. you are most likely correct ..thanks
