No guesses? The steel player is a HOF member who has already left us several years ago and the singer started his career early in the 1950s and became a well-known artist and songwriter before passing away in the alte 1970s.

Hi Peter,
Maybe it helps if I add that the track appears on an album on the Lamb & Lion Label, they always used a certain group of musicians for their recordings.

I'm stumped too although it does sound like Hal. Is the singer from another field of entertainment trying his hand in Nashville? I can almost recognize his voice. |

Sorry for the late reply!
The singer is Johnny Bond who recorded the album "How I Love Them Old Songs" for the Lamb & Lion Label. Musicians include Billy Linneman on Bass, Jimmy Capps on Guitar, Johnny Gimble on Fiddle and Mandolin, Jerry Whitehurst on Piano and the great Jeff Newman on Steel.
