Are Sierra's all aluminum or what? How heavy are they? Just curious. Look like great well built guitars.

There's an S-10 for sale here, the seller says it weighs over 85lbs in the case.
If that is true, I think they may be made out of lead. My P/P D-10 with 8+7 is lighter. Maybe the case is made of steel... |

They look like they are built like a tank. What about parts? Of course the most I would look at might be a 3x4 single or 4x4, or a S-12.

The Sierra Crown Series (with the folding legs)are quite heavy.
The Sierra Session series are not that heavy, especially the S-10 and S-12.
I have 3 Sierra S-12's (with three pedals, five knee levers) and the are very light. They have to be...I'm 71. |

I was under the impression all models had folding legs. I too have a reason for a lighter guitar, bad shoulder, and Arthur on board... (when and if I ever get to trade).

Scott, the s-10 Justice that I got to play(Larry Lenhart's guitar) was so very light! It sounded and played very nice, IMO. You might consider looking at one of those...when the time comes?

| I had 3 Sierra Session U-12 guitars. The body is aluminum and the neck is wood. They are hefty but very solid. Believe it or not, the Sierra has it's own tone but you are able to tweak that tone via changing pickups on the fly via the sliding pickup mount. All my Sierra guitars were keyless and I always wanted to try a keyed guitar. |
