Been listening to the Big E tribute album and was wondering about the tone he is getting. It's different from most other cuts I've heard him play on. I like it. Sounds like he was using a compressor or something?
anyone know?

From what I remember on the session, he went straight into a Session 400 Limited. Not sure if anything was added in mixing or mastering, though.

maybe in jaydees hands, but the session 400 limited was difficult for me to get a tone out of when i had to use one.
now the old session 400 was a different amp and sounded great.
