Here’s a song I discovered in a batch of old sheet music, and I thought it sounded pretty good on steel. A6 tuning. This is the first recording I’ve done with my Guyatone D-8 (only 6 strings used for this recording). Hope you like it!

The Guyatone sounds great Doug. Funny they used to get a bad rap. Drifting and Dreaming is one of those hapa-haole numbers that used to be in the repertoire of every Hawaiian style player before WW2. I think it went out of fashion in the 1950s. Which means its about time to shake the dust off it. Nice job!

Thanks David, yes, the song was written way back in 1925. I learned it from old sheet music, and I went onto youtube and listened to a few versions and chose the tempo and feel that I liked best.

The Guyatone consoles sound terrific IMO. Better than the G'tone lap steels. It seems like they went the extra mile with the consoles, better quality than the lap steels. I think this one may be from the 1970s. It spent most of it's life in the case. The plate on the front bears the name of the music store in Rhode Island where it was originally purchased, now out of business.
