As long as it plays smooth and in tune and the stops are solid, it could be a good player. It is NOT a collector's item, and shouldn't cost more than about 1200-1500. IMO

I think that's a bit too high Lane. So much depends on the workmanship too! I waiting for more pics. I figure it's a Perm body, not a F-tip body, Fingertips had the wood cut out behind the changer to accommodate the tuning mechanism

Good point, John. After all, it's no longer a Sho-Bud, it's a Frankensteel, even if it DOES turn out to be all Bud parts.
A case COULD be made for a higher price Frankenbud, but the person who made/owns it would have to have some explanation behind it (when I get done with two-hole puller SD12 Pro-II Custom, I will be able to say what's in it and why, and can justify why I wouldn't let it go cheap).
And the initial pics don't scream "check out my awesome cab finish" either.

Yes I will give my full assessment of it when all the pics are there.....>there are so many variations of what is "GOOD WORTH" or "BAD WORTH"...and so I pretty much go along with what Lane; John and Skip are saying.

I'm with John ,perm body,part frankensteel (bell cranks). Can u use the S-Pro fingers....no...or possibly with a lot of work.The axle support piece will fit. U would have to shorten the body till the endplate is almost flush with the rear of the support housing and fab a coupla finger stops (upper/lower)cause they are cast with the plate on the later models that use +3/-2 fingers......lottaa work anyway u do it.  holy crap look at those pull rods  I suggest u send it to Ricky D. he needs a Rube Goldberg guitar to keep him on his toes lol Stormy |

So... it's not an updated changer...just an updated changer surround.
The KL's could be squirrelly, since they're nowhere near factory replacements/upgrades. Don't know what to make of the undercarriage.
Personally, I'm not too sure about this one....not quite as cool as I thought it was. |

Nicholas, if you don't want to spend a LOT of time and maybe money working on it, check to see whether it plays accurately, comfortably and in tune. If it does and you can get it for under 8 or 9, then get it.
If it doesn't play accurately, comfortably and in tune, RUN.
Unless you want to be a steel guitar mechanic.
It looks wonky underneath.
