For your consideration is a '64/'65(?) Fender 1000. This has been a great guitar and I hate to see it go, but I need to generate some cash.

THE GOOD: After buying it I completely tore it apart, cleaned and lubed everything, cleaned the pots for the tone and volume, and put it all back together with the cables adjusted perfectly. You can see what I did here: http://bb.steelguitarforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=242931&highlight=
When everything is moving properly and the cables on these are adjusted correctly the pedal action is just superb and a dream to play. You will not have to do anything to this guitar except for choose and install your copedent, which takes about five minutes to change with these cables.

THE BAD: This is not a museum piece, as you can see from the pictures. Besides the paint (which I actually really like as it is), there are just a few non-original pieces here. First is that one of the tuning machines on the lower neck has been replaced. It works perfectly, but it does not match, as you can see in the pictures. Second, the tone and volume knobs are not original. Third, two of the cables have been repaired with non-standard hardware. They work very well and I have never had any problems. Fourth, I have the mechanisms for the string mutes for both necks, but the felt (or rubber?) is completely gone, so I just took them off. I will include them in the case. Fifth, there are no strings on the lower neck right now, sorry. Finally, the cases are in rough shape. But they latch shut properly and will serve you well. Just not beautiful to look at.

Let's say $650 shipped. A bargain for that Mooney sound!

If you have any questions, feel free to send me an email or message. Here are a few more pictures in addition to those in the link above:

Hello. I'm looking to purchase 3 Cable assemblies for my Fender 2000. (Really need the loops that attach to the changers. Any chance you have any. Will pay immediately.

Thanks
Bruce

You should post that in the "Wanted To Buy" section, Bruce. Also try the Fender Steel Forum.

Let's take it to the top one last time. I am leaving town on August 30th for quite a while and would really like to sell this before I leave. Otherwise, I'll hang on and bump it back up when I am in town again.

Thanks

Wow - $650 shipped is amazing deal. It has the cam style changers so string breakage should be minimal. A quick refinish if you like (I wouldn't) and you've got a great player. I'd snap this up if funds were available.

Thanks Tim! This IS a great deal. I would add to your post that right now I have an E9 setup on the back neck, minus the top two chromatic strings, and pull that high G# to A. Never broken a string in the time I've had it.

Thanks for looking...
