yep and thanks! raised section of the board is milled out of the blank. only thing that is glued on are the two little pieces on the top, between the machine heads. the rest is as you so aptly described it...just a hunk of maple!

Bill, you know Richard Goodsell, the amp guy? I got one of his amps, a few months ago. (Great amp. 33 watts into a single 15) We were talking about your playing, and your luthiery work as well. As this track, and the photos illustrate, you are an artist of high degree. Just thought I'd tell you that.

And Richard's amps are tone machines.

one day richard and i were buying some gear from an estate. there were 5 or 6 B3 organs there that i had called him about coming and buying with me. on the list of items was a theremin. so we looked all over that big huge house full of almost hoarder amounts of stuff and richard finds the two antennae on a mantle. we then see a mahogany box that has some knobs on it. i thought it was a lectern that you plugged a mic in and stood behind and yakked, but under one of the knobs it said "pitch"...we both just smiled. we had a hundred bucks between us. the person in charge of the estate had it priced at $125. we had already spent a LOT of money on the hammonds so she sold it to us for the hundred. turned out to be an early 60s robert moog theremin. tube electronics. i took it home and got it working and richard sold it for thousands! lol hes a good guy and the amps are boutique for sure!

He told me that story, Bill!

I think the reverbs in his (my) amp sound Hammond-ish. I think Richard may know as much about Hammond organs as anybody on this planet. I sold my Dr. Z to buy the Goodsell. I made a good decision.
Richard sent me a little amp, after I'd had the 33-watt for a bit. I was expecting some channel switching robo-amp. I was broken hearted when I opened the box. Three knobs. Volume, gain, and treble. And a bright switch. Normally, I shy away from a "tone" pot. Not with this little 12-watt killer. That "Tone" control was more like a parametric EQ, and was magnificent. Hated to send that one back.
I'm glad he's on "our" side.
Did you know Sean Costello?

ryan drove down from Gnashville and picked up the instrument. i appreciate so much that he bought it. he plays very nice. has good technique and a nice sound. he likes classic 50s and 60s country also! he will do just fine. good to see a young player with this interest.
