Marty,

Just give days & dates and you'll end up with a full list. There are usually more than one option for going to see a steeler playing a show each day of the week. And, if you're looking to jam or lesson-up, ...that's here too.

We (ASGC) do third Sundays... so if you're there for the full week, you can catch us on the 21st. We don't have any firm plans yet, so this might change... but we normally only move the date for holidays (Easter, etc). I hope you have a good time out here, whether you make our meeting or not!

I'll be up in Nashville that week, for the NTSGA Super Duper Jam.

Since I disengaged myself from the Tony Harrison Band, I no longer do my weekly happy hour Thursday Night Live gig. I usually play non-pedal steel with Alvin Crow 9-12:30 on Thursdays at the Little Longhorn.

I do the Broken Spoke with Gary P. Nunn once a month, and Alvin Crow as well, schedule permitting. I seem to be doing mostly Gary P. gigs the last few months.

Check out the Broken Spoke. Usually Ricky Davis is playing Tuesdays with Weldon Henson, and Danny Hawk plays with Chaparral on Wednesdays...
Also Ginny's Little Longhorn (various bands including Neil Flanz with Finger Pistol), and the White Horse (James Shelton with Jim Stringer on most Mondays)

Marty,

If you get in as early as Sunday night, Sept. 14, Johnny Cox is with Heybale! at the Continental Club, starting about 10:30 pm on Sunday nights; Don Pawlak plays with Dale Watson, they are at the Continental Club on S. Congress Monday nights, if they're not on the road, ...ditto on James Shelton w/ Jim Stringer, a mighty fine player; same for Ricky Davis, always one of my favorite players for a long time. I haven't gotten to hear Danny H. yet, but have seen his steel set up on a stage.

Check back closer to your trip for updates.

Enjoy!

Ted

Marty,
Get in touch. I'm usually playing someplace or you can drop by and check out a couple PP Emmons .

Just checked my schedule and I am starting best little whorehouse rehearsals that week except for one gig in Dallas on the 18th. Do feel free to come by though.

Thanks for everyone's posts. I'm in town until Thursday for business...I will check to see when I can slip away and mingle with some steelers.
