Thanks Lane, I appreciate that. In an earlier reply Ron Pruter asked if I used ball bearings in the changer and I said no. That was wrong. I was thinking he meant on the changer axel. I do have ball bearings in the changer on the fingers, not the axel. Thanks Martin.

I love your work, Martin.
Forgive me if you've discussed this elsewhere:
Am I seeing servos for 2 position lever stops?

Shocked Friggin awesome Martin, I love the the way u always have tweaked a design for a part or some mechanism, subtle /some not as much ,it always feels like your latest work of art is more advanced than the last.Amazing work I really like the design for your double stops simple, elegant and plenty of metal ...gotta be rock solid and allen set screws on the stop block to lock the second stop that's superb!!! Thanks for the kind words Storm. Jon L. yes there are two half stops, I raise string one a whole tone with a half stop to stop at a half tone, I also lower string two with the other half stop. The stops look like field artillery pieces but they are sturdy and work great. The hardest part building those was finding the right tension spring. The springs are removable and can be changed if desired. They are adjustable three ways. Joe N. I cant afford to buy matching seats for all my steels, what you should is come up with some removable seat covers that can be custom made for the colors , then you could just snap them on and off depending which guitar you are playing at the time. You do make a fantastic seat. I have one that Bill Dearmore built for me years ago. Martin.

Had not had the request to put snap on covers YET

I could be done I like to make options

Smile I was saying it as a joke - there was a guy on facebook that was showing his 8 or 10 steels - I did the same - he bought a black one and said it matched his AMP - we had lots of fun with that.

Pick um good and keep smilin

Martin,
On the bottom edge of the aprons, I see what appears to be holes that were drilled and then filled with some kind of filler. I've seen this on several different brands of steels. What is the purpose of this? Your steel looks very impressive. You have done some amazing work!

Mitch, if I may speak for Martin, those are plugs for filling the holes made for attaching the aprons to the deck. I don't know if Martin uses glue/screw and plug or if he uses all wood/glued dowel joints. Some builders use a "biscuit" cutter to join the wood edges too, that method leaves no holes to plug. In any case they cover the holes left after aprons are attached to the top deck. Winking

Mitch E. Storm got it right. Those are wooden plugs that fill the screw hole that fasten the aprons to the deck. I also use glue . I do use biskits and glue to join the two deck boards together. Martin.

Thanks for the compliment Dale R. I really appreciate it. I don't build these guitars to sell. It's a hobby with me. I have built a few for local friends but usually just keep and play them myself. I am 75 now and do not want this to become a business as I just can't work an eight hour day anymore. I will be taking a break for awhile. The V.A. wants to experiment on me for awhile and see what they can find to remove, repair, detach, or rip off my body. There are other things I have to get done also as I have neglected my house, things like painting, etc. Building a steel by your self is a tremendous amount of work. I make everything myself except the tuning keys (Grovers) the legs which I can buy for less than I can build and the nut rollers which I tried but drove myself nuts . Besides, my practice time is being seriously compromised. Martin.

Thanks Ken K. I was born in Coral Gables. I see you were a Court officer in Miami. My Uncle (Judge John Kehoe) and my Cousin (Judge James Kehoe) worked the Courts in Miami. James was a Federal Judge, maybe you knew him. Martin.

Yes indeed I was assigned to Judge James Kehoe's courtroom as a CSO in the Miami Federal court back in 1994-1995, tuff but fair judge, very professional.

I'm still assigned to the same courthouse.

I think he passed away back in 1995-96.

Finally done with new guitar (center pic.) Haven't adjusted pedal and knee stops yet. This will be the last for awhile. Covers are by Leann Sharp of Sharp Covers in Nashville. I have the Confederate Flag cover ordered from Leann for the new guitar. Thanks for all the nice comments. I really do appreciate it.
Martin.

The verdicts in on all 3..............their all guilty of being too repetitively awesome in the first degree.

Personally I like the center S-10.

Good job Martin.

Thanks Ken K. Chris , No, I didn't make the Tele. That is a kit guitar that was made by my friend Don Sulesky who then gave it to me in appreciation of some work I did for him on his guitar. It plays very well. Martin.

Now I need to come over and play it.
"Absolutely beautiful" as I told him 2 weeks ago just before he assembled it.
I'm only 3 miles from him. He built my #007 blue Weenick.
I have tried to post a sound clip because of the many requests, but can't figure out how it's done for my Blue Weenick.
The Tele in the background is one I built and gave Mike for some work he has done for me.
He will not take my money so I need to find other ways with gifts.
Don

P.S.
I see Mike answered the question while I was writing this post.
