I don't think you can go wrong with either. Stage One/Encore also deserve a look.
Were I in the market for an S-10, delivery date would be my deciding factor.

| It's hard to beat the Justice guitars. That's the one I would choose. I have the S-10, it's one of the best sounding guitars I've ever owned. |

The Justice guitars, to me play effortlessly and sound great. I've had a pro lite for a bit over 2 years and it is my go to guitar. I've never played a discovery, but having played a Mullen for many years, I'm sure it's a quality instrument. For me the deciding factor is the
depth of the pro lite. Not quite an SD-10 in size, it is close enough for someone who prefers the larger guitar. It's also very light. If I haven't said so, I'm extremely biased;).

Don't forget about service after the sale, I can assure u that Fred Justice is an A+,#1 great guy and I'm pretty sure Fred would crawl thru cockleburrs to make sure one is glad they bought a Justice...(I'm a bit biased cause I've worked with Fred)honest and fair to a fault (if that's possible)...Stormy  |

| I've heard the Mullen Discovery, Justice Pro Lite, and Zumsteel StageOne and Encore are all great guitars-I've never played those guitars, but I hear they're awesome! |

| I vote for the Justice guitar...I have the S10 3 and 4,and it is the best sounding guitar I have owned and effortless to play. Furthermore, Fred is a great guy to do business with...he will give you service after the sale. I havent owned the others, but dealing with Fred on several occasions I can assure you he is top drawer all the way ! You will never regret getting one of his instruments. |

You can't go wrong on a Zum Encore. Resonable price, light weight and great sound.

The Justice has split screws. It appears from the photo on the Mullen web site that it does not. But it does have a triple raise changer, which means that the 3rd raise can be used for splits.
Both ways work.They are simply different, and one is not better than the other. It's a matter of which one you prefer.
The Stage One cannot do splits at all. The Encore can do them on strings 5, 6, and 10, but apparently not on the others. (I have them on strings 4,5, and 8.)

I played the Justice Pro-Lite at the AZ steel show. I was very impressed. The Justice folks are A+ people, too.

FYI, the Justice Pro lite is a single 10 on a double frame, the Mullen discovery is a single 10 on a single frame. Due to friendships of both makers, I won't make a recommendation. However, you can't go wrong with either. Good luck with your purchase. Larry

Larry ole buddy, sorry, I have to chime in and correct your information.
The Justice Pro Lite is not a single on a double frame.
Most double frame guitars including mine are 11" wide.
The Pro Lite however is 9 & 1/2" wide with a small pad, all on one level deck with no step down.
