| Isn't this just a reverse stringed single eight? All of the hardware is oriented for a right handed player. He just re-strung it, with string gauge in consideration, for a lefty. As Irv pointed out, just rotating the leg sockets 180 degrees, puts the legs in the right position for a lefty. Loosen the flange screws on the socket, rotate to the desired position, replace the screws and you are done. You may have to drill new screw holes for the flanges, but that would never be seen by anyone looking at the guitar, even from close inspection on the bottom. Those leg sockets are in a straight line, or close to it, so it is an easy mod. |

| Doug, if folks don't realize the ingenious design of the leg socket system, I can easily see why one would be confused. Why is it when it comes to musical instruments, the oldest basic designs prove over and over again to be the best? Look at any guitar or even amplifier available today. They are all based on a terrific iconic design which has proven very difficult to improve upon. The humble leg socket is one of them. |

I would imagine you would need to turn the nut around so the grooves are in the opposite direction than normal.

Remove the screws, rotate the sockets 180 degrees, put the screws back in, and the legs will "splay" in the opposite direction. There are four in the picture, the Deluxe 8 only has three.
A lefty player would want to do this on a Deluxe so the single leg on the front of the guitar would not be between his legs when the turns the guitar around. It's better to the have the two legs on the ends of the body splaying to the rear, and the single leg toward the front, middle.
