not only is it flag day in America, june 14th, 2014
it is the 2nd annual steelin' the gospel steel guitar showcase, held in the climate controlled comfort of the Hackett's gospel music singin' shed at the intersection of u.s.hwy 65 and ar hwy 165, halfway between dermott and mcgehee, Arkansas. the 1st 12 players are guaranteed 25 min. slots, with full back-up and singers if needed. you are welcome to bring your own if you like.
last years 1st annual event was well received by the public, with a full house all day of hand clappin', foot stompin' of a public that fell in love with the steel guitar and the players. when the roster is full it's full. www.thehackettsfamily.com
area motels and campgrounds will be posted soon, that are offering special steelin' the gospel rates.
last year we had 2 arkies as the other 10 players came from Louisiana, texas, Mississippi and Missouri.
"build it and they will come", someone once said.
concessions available on site. all day pass is free!
the Friday nite early bird tune-up jam will kick-off at 6:00pm to welcome those that can't wait 'til mornin'. it is open to players of all levels and was a huge event last year, as it was, a hit to the public.

Hey Country Jack, What time will the steel playin start this year on Saturday? If you could slot me between 3:00 and 4:00 I'd very much appreciate it. If that slot is already taken, that's ok, you can move me up or down. Thanks

terry, i got you down fro 3pm. if you'd rather hae 3:30pm, say so now....
i have had several ask if the group was comin' that caused such a stir last year!
