What is the difference in SATA, and E SATA connections? Reason for asking, the usb, audio, and HDMI panel is in the E SATA connection on the mainboard and I need one more SATA connection for a hard drive hotswap box. I can do without the panel. MSI, 785GT-E63 board.

Thanks, Bill

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serial_ATA#eSATA

Quote:
Standardized in 2004, eSATA (e standing for external) provides a variant of SATA meant for external connectivity. It uses a more robust connector, longer shielded cables, and stricter (but backward-compatible) electrical standards. The protocol and logical signaling (link/transport layers and above) are identical to internal SATA.

More information on the wikipedia link above.

Sounds to me like a "let me Google that for you" question.
