After a lot of thought, I have decided to put my Red 12 string BMI up for sale.

1) This Red mica BMI was custom built about 3 years ago for me. The steel guitar has 12 strings, E-9th with B6th Universal tuning.

2)Half padded neck on rear of guitar.

3) Comes with Turner three way pickup for various tones

4) 7 floor pedals and 5 knee pedals. Emmons pedal setup and Jeff Newman used this too.

5) Elite Steel Case

6) The steel never played in clubs. Played in churches, recording studios, and 7-8 steel guitar shows in AR, OK, MO and at my home.

7) Asking $2800 and shipping. A new one like this sells for around $3900 now. This steel is in great shape and has wonderful tone.

Please only serious players/buyers e-mail me or call 417-241-4129 Small thumbnail picture of it in corner with me and my son. I'll put better picks on in couple days.

Thanks!

Terry Wood

Forum Members,

I want to let you all know that the name plate on front is not permanent,it is taped on and is easily removed. There is a Christian Fish symbol that I placed on the front. The same it is easily removed if the buyer wants to remove.

The name plate reads Built Especially for Terry Wood by BMI steel guitars.

It is a great steel guitar! Well worth the $2600 that I'm asking for it. I will meet and or deliver within 100 miles of where I live too. I am located near Springfield, MO.

Thanks!

Forum Members,

Go to the Beck Musical Website and look at the section guitars in stock. There is a red BMI like mine for sale there. It has one more floor pedal and is new steel.

You will see mine is priced well. Winking

Some individuals inquired as to weight and size of steel in and out of case.

1) Top of steel from end plate to end plate is 33 3/4 inches

2) Top width 9 13/16th inches

3) Case 35 1/2 inches length and 15 1/2 inches width

4) Steel out of case 44.8 pounds

5) Steel inside case weight 68.4 pounds

Great sounding steel and great price.

The tuning used on this steel is like the Jeff Newman Universal setup he used. It has all you will want or need.

The twin to this Red BMI guitar was a Red BMI keyless 12 stringer and after playing the keyless, for a short time, I had the BMI guys build this keyed steel. The twin the keyless was great but I just couldn't get used to a keyless steel. So it went to Steel Guitar Hall of Famer Mr. Pee Wee Whitewing in Louisiana. Pee Wee was with Hank Thompson and other greats!

So, it is a great steel guitar. I need to scale down since I just went through a divorce.

Thanks for those interested. My cell number is 417-241-4129

So I notice the undercarriage on the BMI's looks quite different than most other brands.I am aware of BMI's originating from Zane Beck's. Does anyone have anything to say about this? I am wishing I was in the position to upgrade to the U12. This would be the perfect guitar.Sorry to hear about the woman trouble Terry.

My first steel was a 2007 BMI S10 and I loved it - good tone and very easy to work on. I think the flat bar cross shafts were used in the ZB guitar and perhaps it's a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" situation. I'm sure a BMI employee can give us some good reasons for the design, and I can say in my personal experience it works well.

beautiful guitar, and a fair price as well... BMI is one of the most under rated steels out there... now days everybody wants a D-10 with 10 pedals, 9 knee levers and 15 holes bell cranks, with quadruple raise and lowers ... BMI is a solid, and very functional instrument, with no non sense crap on it..if you can't play this BMI, no extra pedals or knee levers, no matter how many holes on your bell cranks, bottom line, you can't play period... so many awesome guitars don't sell because they don't have 5 knee levers, or they have pull release changer which is "limited" ... ridiculous ...

This looks like a pretty nice guitar at a great price. I hate to see it get away from the owner who'd probably like to keep it. I'm at my limit with my two SD-12 uni guitars. That red cabinet looks pretty sweet. Someday I'll upgrade from the somber black which both my guitars are.
