Not only did the Kline have a great keyless design, but the vertical knee levers had a spring loaded "hinge" that allowed you to fold it up into the bottom of the guitar for packing it in the case. Boy I sure miss my Kline. _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, NV400, NV112 . Playing for 54 years and still counting. |

I have a Williams 12 Sting Universal keyless and would not have it any other way. I do not have the problems most of you guys talk about when restringing. It is so simple. Check out Bills design, a no brainer to change strings. Easy and it child's play....

Daryl, on the Williams do you have to pull the string up close to pitch by hand, or can you just snug it up before tuning it up to pitch?

Just snug it up, and tune. The Williams has plenty of block to pull the string to pitch. |

Just got my new Williams keyless...been playing Williams keyed guitars for about 3 years...the keyless is pretty wonderful...keyed Williams action is already better than most guitars, but this keyless is stunning - virtually effortless pedals and levers, crisp short throws...essentially no cabinet drop, lowers return to pitch, sound is very "clear" is a way I can't articulate..glad you all persuaded me to jump from keys...I had a GFI keyless some years ago and didn't really like it, for a number of reasons...but the Williams is the one for me...
Was happy that it is even lighter than the keyed guitar, but it turns out that the current Williams case is a lot heavier than the previous one (both ATA road cases) for some unknown reason...so an order Kevin Hatton was placed....
QUESTION: Any clever, elegant solutions for a tool for cranking the tuning block back all the way to starting position when changing strings?

What kinda screws? Allen head? If so, get the right-sized Allen head screwdriver, cut the blade shorter, You can also cut the plastic handle shorter. |

Sort of looking for something easy to spin/crank, while not losing pressure to keep it on the bolt (3/16, just like nylon tuners) _________________ www.facebook.com/swingaliband & a few more....

When I had a Williams, I used a little Black&Decker electric screwdriver with the appropriate hex bit. Zip Zip. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

It would be nice if the tuning screws were spring loaded. Not tensioned to the point of causing tuning issues.

I recall that in March Sonny Jenkins promised us an update on his experiences with the homebrew keyless tuner.
Does anyone know how that worked out? _________________ Williams 700 series keyless U12,
