Anyone know of any opportunities in the Kansas City area? I took early retirement and I want to play a lot. The band I'm currently with just doesn't want to get out much.

I just left the Travis Gibson band out of Warrensburg. They are all pretty talented young dudes. They play newer country so it's hard to fit steel into everything but check them out of facebook. If you're looking to gig, I know they are fully booked. Hell, I'd still be playin' with 'em if I had found a good job down there.

There are several country bands around the KC area I could throw your name to. Being that there is not a lot of steel players (that play out) around the area jobs are pretty easy to get. I play with a band full time but still sit in and record for several folks. I don't know if you have posted anything in the musicians page on craigslist, but that will def be a help to you as well! Hope you can get something rolling before too long.
