I have purchased a Legrande III SD-10(3&4) from a forum member and am anxiously waiting for delivery.The guitar has a day pedal setup and the left knee levers are reversed from the standard Emmons setup(LKL: Lowers 4+8 a half-step,LKR: Raises 4+8 a half-step(split-tuned with pedal 1 on 4th string)).I would like to restore the guitar to a standard Emmons setup when it arrives. Is this something that I can do myself, and if so is there any information around that might help me with this endeavor?

I'm not familiar with the Legrande, but on most guitars the switch from Day to Emmons is pretty straight-forward. For the knee levers, all you have to do is pull out 4 rods, put them back in and tune it up. For the pedals you have to move the bell cranks around a little bit, but it's still no big deal.
Be sure to write down what holes things were in before you start changing things, so that you won't have to experiment with leverages.

Hey Kurt--double underline that 'write things down' thing. Any trial & error time wasting you can eliminate is more time for playing.

--I don't know the Emmons but all modern all-pull guitars bear enough similarity to apply familiarity from one to another.

This makes me wonder why all steel guitars don't come a Manual! Carter is the only one i've heard of that does. At least have one you could buy.
Ann, does the Carter Manual cover most of the stuff on all "all pull" steels. If it does, how much does one cost.

Thanks to everyone who responded, and particular thanks to Tony Rankin and Emmons Guitars who both sent me Emmons Legrande III rodding charts. After careful study and writing down the existing configuration I made the changes,switching the A&C pedals and LKL&RKL(from Day to Emmons)knee levers with no problems and no parts left over. It was a great learning experience.b0b was right, it was no big deal.
You can close this thread, the job is done.
