Like Mike Perlowin said, this is personal. I loved that man! He has influenced my music, musical psychology and been an overall incredible friend. Always thoughtful, kind, and understanding. The very best teacher I have ever had, even in school. I will always miss him. But his legacy will always live on. And my condolences to Teresa, all his family and all of his many friends. Rest in peace my dear friend.

I just caught this. Of all the people during my "steel" days, Reece was the MOST KIND to me. A good man, no question.
Oh, he's definitely enjoying Heaven right now.
Thank you, Reece. |

A wise man once said; "your legacy in life is not measured in terms of the material things you gather along the way it is measured in the number of people whom you gave freely of your love and your friendship".
Reece Anderson was one of those people who gave far more than he received. I met him once in St. Louis and he was a warm and gracious person. His knowledge of the Steel Guitar was phenomenal; he was one of those people who will be missed in many circles. Farewell Reece, now you play for the Master! |

What a shock - I have been away from home today and computer-less until I read David's tragic post. My sincere condolences to the family of this long time friend who was the epitome of kindness and professionalism. His playing set the standard for would be jazz players, and his loss is immeasurable.

I posted my condolences in an earlier post. I'd like to add that when I spent a few days with Reece a couple of(maybe 3)years ago, I got up before the household and made coffee,,,Reese was usually up by the time coffee was ready,,,we would sit out on the patio and talk,,,for maybe an hour before everyone else was up,,,I felt like I got to know him pretty well,,,and that knowledge of the kind of man he was,,,what life, music, family and God meant to him,,,makes this day even sadder,,,if that's possible. For those that are not aware of "Reece's Writings",,,I'll post this,,,it shows how much thought and effort he put into helping others find what they seek in life,,and music.
