Roger did a great job of playing that beautiful Black single neck Zum steel and what a great sound he has coming out of the Amp.Sorry I left roger as you were singing a song. I had a problem come up and I had to left.I was doing good and then I said to Anna I think we have to leave as I got this funny felling like I was going to pass out and I got out in the car and waited a few minutes and then i felt better. i don't know what happen. This happens once in awhile and I will have it checked Wednesday at the VA Hospital in West Palm Beach.

Hi, Sam - it was good to meet you both, albeit briefly!

Yes, I'm very pleased with both the Roland Cube and the Zum Encore - bright, without being shrill and my sound cuts through everything with a minimum of lifting from the car to the stage!

I hope you're feeling better today; come and see us again.

By the way, I've lived long enough to have encountered many different mispellings of my name, but 'REDDING' is a new one on me!!!!

All the best to you and Anna:

Roger RETTIG

(Thanks for dropping in.)

Isn't/wasn't there a 'Noel Redding'? Some sort of drummer????

Probably after my time, but it rings a bell...

This gig is actually quite good fun. The drums and bass keep very solid time and, although there are far too many maudlin counry 'weepies' for my taste, the piano/horn guy sings some oddities like 'Bad, Bad Leroy Brown' and an occasional soul tune with nice changes.

Here we are ignoring the notation on the wall behind us....

Noel Redding was the bass player in The Jimi Hendrix Experience back in the 1960s. The drummer was Mitch Mitchell. Noel went on to form the Clonakilty Cowboys in West Cork, Ireland.

I'm pleased to hear your Zum Encore is working out well. I have a Stage One and I love it. I am thinking of ordering an Encore soon, just for the added flexibility. Which pickup did you request?

The Wallace TT single-coil is working very well for me - I like the tone of this guitar more than my Emmons LG (on E9, anyway)!!

I knew I was playing with fire trying to cite rock musicians post-Elvis and the Everlys! But I'm an old guy now (since March 23rd when I turned seventy) and all that new-fangled stuff got past me... Very Happy

That's good to know about the TT pickup. I might go for that too.

Oh, and happy 70th birthday, Roger. 70 is the new 50, y'know.

Noel Redding would be sixty- seven if he hadn't died a few years ago.

Roger is definitely not related to OTIS that's for sure. Laughing

That's a good gigging rig that you have now Roger. I still tend to hump my Webb to most gigs, and after the Roland it feels ponderously heavy. That's even with a neo speaker in it. The Webb just puts out more than I need in terms of clean, rich output. For the occasional pub gig, the Roland is absolutely fine. My new Show Pro is getting its first airing on Saturday - there is a nice big stage. It will be strange not having my push pull in front of me, but I am looking forward to it immensely.

I am playing in a 6 piece band these days like you. It's a Haggard tribute band, and an enjoyable way of spending the weekends. Very Happy

I would tend to kinda agree, if the 1960's feels like newfangled to you - yup. You're old. Laughing

I guess I must be old, then. I think of the 60s as being recent. Embarassed

My happiest days were spent photographing steam trains, and the last steam trains on British Railways ran in 1968. Rolling Eyes

(I'm not counting preserved or museum locos. ...they will always be around.)

I had the pleasure of visiting Roger in his home and buying a pair of amps. I found a very gracious and friendly fellow there with a weath of musical history under his belt and a fine collection of London bus models. Roger also has a beautiful home in Naples.
Roger, I failed to catch any fish at Anna Maria Island, but I did have a wonderful piece of wahoo that someone else caught (I hope that it didn't suffer too much)
P.S.: The amps work beautifully...My playing, not so much.
Duncan
